Significant reductions in greenhouse gas emissions were also achieved in many of FDP\u2019s facilities, including its poultry operation at NPC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Currently, the company is only 5.5 percentage points from its 2030 goals, which is the reduction of emissions by 27.5% \u2014 a goal it intends to surpass.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWe\u2019ve been seeing the effects of climate change and global warming for quite some time now and given the current weather conditions the world is facing, the urgency to address the growing climate crisis is stronger than ever,\u201d said Hans Sauter, Chief Sustainability Officer and SVP of Research &amp; Development at Fresh Del Monte.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAlthough we are proud of the action we\u2019ve taken to meet our SBTi goals, we want to encourage others to join in this fight to slow down climate change, and help conserve and protect the health of our planet and its natural resources.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Looking forward, Fresh Del Monte remains committed to being a leader in agricultural farming, having made great progress on several other of its sustainability initiatives.
